Eric founded Tenant Law Group (originally, Toscano Law Group) in January 2016. Although he practiced law for many years, he now manages the firm full-time, focusing on long-term planning, marketing, finances, operations, and human resources. Named a Top 40 Under 40 Litigation Attorney in the state of California by the American Society of Legal Advocates in 2016, honored as a Northern California Super Lawyer Rising Star (an award reserved for just 2.5% of eligible attorneys in Northern California) every year from 2015 to 2019, and selected as a 2021 Super Lawyer, Eric is passionate about entrepreneurship, trial advocacy, and social justice.
A dedicated tenant rights advocate, he served on the board of directors of the Eviction Defense Collaborative in San Francisco from April 2015 to April 2019. He currently serves on UC Davis School of Law’s Alumni Board of Directors.
Born in the South Bay and raised in the Central Valley and Wine Country, Eric earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Stanford University. He earned his law degree from UC Davis School of Law, where he served as president of the student bar association. During law school, Eric also worked as an intern in the Government Division of the Office of the City Attorney of San Francisco, as well as a judicial extern to the Honorable Morrison C. England, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
Outside of work, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons, visiting his family in the Wine Country, traveling, training for marathons, and volunteering as a Den Leader with his older son’s Cub Scout Pack. He speaks fluent Italian, conversational Spanish, and some French.
