Negad joined Tenant Law Group in September as trial counsel. His practice focuses on pursuing money damages on behalf of tenants whose rights have been violated by landlords.
Prior to joining Tenant Law Group, Negad served as a Deputy Public Defender with the Santa Clara Public Defender’s Office. Negad has conducted thirteen jury trials to summation, several more that resolved prior to summation, two bench trials, and over fifty evidentiary hearings. He has represented over one thousand clients in a variety of legal settings regarding a broad scope of issues. He has appeared countless times before judges, commissioners, and magistrates throughout the State of California.
Negad earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated cum laude. He obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Texas School of Law at Austin, where he was recognized for excellence in advocacy with the Best Closing Argument award.
Negad moved to the Bay Area as an infant and has called it home ever since. As a child of immigrants, he grew up valuing diversity and fairness to all. He is passionate about a variety of social justice issues, particularly protecting the right of hard-working individuals and families to reside peacefully in their homes.
When he is not working on behalf of his clients, Negad enjoys pick-up basketball, weightlifting, hiking, and longboarding around his neighborhood. In addition to English, Negad is fluent in Arabic and proficient in French.
